Overview of the Trainee Role
The Trainee position at Wipro is designed to give fresh graduates hands-on exposure to real-world projects, client systems, and enterprise-level software solutions.
As a trainee, you’ll work with the Wipro Proprietary Total Benefit Administration System (TBAS) — a core technology platform used to configure and manage client benefit programs. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze client requirements, configure the system accordingly, and test it thoroughly to ensure it functions as expected.
This role will help you develop both technical and analytical skills, giving you a strong foundation for a long-term career in IT consulting, data management, or enterprise software systems.

What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you’ll become familiar with how large-scale technology systems are built, configured, and maintained. You’ll learn how to turn client requirements into system configurations that deliver measurable results.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Configuring systems using Wipro’s proprietary tools and platforms.

Setting up tables, parameters, and data based on client needs.
-
Testing software configurations to ensure smooth system functionality.

Collaborating with other team members to identify and fix issues.
-
Maintaining detailed documentation for configuration and testing activities.
This experience will give you a real-world understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) — from requirement gathering to deployment and testing.
Technical Skills You’ll Need
Wipro is looking for candidates who have a strong technical foundation and a genuine interest in learning. You don’t need years of experience — but you should have a clear understanding of core programming and database concepts.
Preferred Technical Skills:

Knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle): Understanding how software is built, tested, and maintained.

Familiarity with Mainframes and SAS: Basic understanding of data handling, reporting, or mainframe environments is a plus.

SQL Skills: Ability to write and understand simple to intermediate SQL queries.

Database Knowledge: Concepts like tables, keys, and relationships in relational databases (DB2 knowledge is desirable).

Software Testing Concepts: Understanding of manual testing, test cases, and quality assurance principles.
